This medium telephoto lens, with a focal length of approx. 107 mm equiv. to 35 mm Fullframe sensor not only brings far objects closer to you, but it is also capable of expressing the sensation of focusing on a single point.
While providing a large aperture of open F2.4, this lens features a slim design and length of only 26mm for enabling portrait shooting with blurred backgrounds and also for enjoying snapshot shooting with easy mobility.

This lens has been specially designed for digital SLR cameras whose image circle has been adapted to the APS-C format of the image sensor (23.5 mm × 15.7 mm) to achieve a significantly more compact and lightweight design with an excellent price-performance ratio compared to 35 mm format SLR cameras with interchangeable lenses and the same specifications.

The design is based on the numerical evaluation of high resolutions and low aberration by various testing instruments and also incorporates advanced evaluation using actual images. New HD coating

This lens uses the new-generation multicoating "HD Coating" that reduces the reflection rate in the visible spectrum up to 50% or more than conventional multicoating. This enables the reduction of flare and ghosting for the shooting of clear, high-contrast images even under backlighting and other adverse conditions.

In addition to a variety of features, such as our unique HD-multi-coating and the prevention of reflections in the lens barrel, a Retractable sliding hood, and out of the way easy to be stored out of the way. is included with this PENTAX lens to minimise ghosting and flare that occurs in backlit and other adverse conditions.

After focusing using the autofocus, the focus ring can be turned to allow immediate focus adjustment using the manual focus. This feature enables smooth operability by eliminating the need for an AF/MF switching operation. This is useful during closeup photography, for instance, when you want to shoot while making fine adjustments to the focus
